Psalms 103:2
"Bless the Lord, O my soul and forget not all His benefits"
There is no way we can enumerate all the benefits we get from having thankful hearts. These benefits accrue to the thanks givers and it is possible to extend to families and friends. Thanksgiving is a spiritual thing and it has incomparable benefits.
The summary of thanksgiving benefits in Psalm 103 can be stated as 1) Forgiveness of all our iniquities. 2) Healing all our diseases. 3) Redemption of our lives from destruction 4) Crowning us with loving kindness and tender mercies. 5) Satisfying my mouth with good things. 6) Execution of righteousness and judgement for those that are oppressed. 7) Showing His ways to us as He has shown to Moses. 8) Merciful and gracious. 9) Slow to anger. 10) Plenteous in mercy. 11) Not always chiding us. 12) Not keeping His anger for ever. 13) Not dealing with us according to our sins and 14) Not rewarding us according with our iniquities.
David realized how guilty he was and had to bless God with all that is within him for salvation of lifetime that went throughout eternity. The blood of Jesus flowed at Calvary for total out redemption from the trap of our sins. We need to bless God for Jesus who has taken away all our guilt, pain and suffering. Seek after Jesus with deepness of your heart. He is the advocate to plead our cases. Do not allow the devil to intervene at all in the circumstances of your life. Give thanks always. Please note that giving thanks is the least of virtues and not giving thanks is the worst of vices before God.
Prayer points for the day
1) Father, thank you for your day to day salvation and sanctification of my soul, in Jesus Name.
2) Almighty God, thank you for your unfailing loving kindness to me and my family, in Jesus Name.
3) Father, thank you for daily load of provision and protection for my spirit, soul and body, in Jesus Name.
4) Lord, thank you for the good and bad times I have experienced in my life so far, in Jesus Name.
5) Father, thank you for not allowing to grieve any more in my life, in Jesus Name.
6) Father, thank you because of your unfailing promises for me and my household, in Jesus Name.
7) Father, thank you because you will not allow me and my family and the household of God to miss out of eternity, in Jesus Name. Amen.
