Deuteronomy 11:14
"That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine and thine oil"
The purpose of the first rain is different from that of the latter. God designed the first rain to prepare us for the big harvest. Therefore, the first rain has to come first to soften the ground ; thus making the hearts of the planters/farmers to be steered up in readiness for the latter rain, which is necessary to make the harvest to be bountiful.
The early or the first rain is as important as the latter rain. If there is no first rain ; the latter rain may not be relevant. May the rain comes upon us at the appropriate due times. Imagine if the first rain comes latter then the preparation will be adversely affected and harvest will be zero or delayed. If one misses the first rain what use is the latter rain? Brethren missing either of the rain is no good.
If we do not want our harvests to be delayed, we should walk and work with the first rains as at when they come. The first rains may come in form of opportunities at any point in life of a believer. Whatever may hinder our first rains must go away in Jesus Name. Expect your first rain even if you had not experienced one before. The first rain makes the “ground breaking” of life easy, while the latter rain accelerate harvests.
Prayer points for the day
1) Father, thank you for the miracle of waking me up this day, in Jesus Name.
2) Father, thank you for the sanctification of my soul, in Jesus Name.
3) Lord, let my first rain come in appropriate time, in Jesus Name.
4) Lord, I am expecting my latter rain to follow my first rain, in Jesus Name.
5) Father, let it rain on every of my dry land, in Jesus Name.
6) Lord, let the very first rain take away all the drought in my life, in Jesus Name.
7) Almighty God, let the first rain give me my ground – breaking miracles, in Jesus Name. Amen.
