Mark 14:3
"And being in Bethany in the house of Simeon the leper, as He sat at the meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious ; and she brake the box, and poured it on His head"
As a religious tradition in Israel, alabaster box contains the ointment the family provides for a young lady to pour on the feet of her husband at her marriage ceremony, in future. The husband in turn would cherish the act and give substantial gifts in exchange. It was always considered as personally precious dream gift for the woman.
Women are always known for their great passion for Jesus. The unnamed woman in the above passage was said to have broken her precious alabaster box and poured the ointment to anoint the head of Jesus. What a big love for Master Jesus.
The reaction of some of the people was negative to this; but Jesus appreciated it and responded to the needs of the woman. Other people in the house focused on serving dinner, but this woman focused on serving Jesus. Whenever other people oppose your service to Jesus; keep serving Jesus and He would recognize it. Her unlimited passion for Jesus resulted in unlimited blessing. PRAISE GOD!!!!!
