“BUT BY LOVE SERVE” Part 1 : Friday February 2

Galatians 5:13

"For brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another."

The gospel above is admonishing us that we Christians have obtained liberty through the grace of God that saved us. On the very day we identified with Jesus Christ and became born again, it came with liberty, otherwise known as freedom from the law of man.

Liberty to do the right things in the realm of the spiritual and physical. Liberty to obey divine set rules and restrain from using our liberty to answer to flesh on any occasion.

Genuine love is critical to our service and support to the call of God and man. Each of us has purpose and plan from the Lord and we should discharge our duties with love. Many people can give because they are obligated to do so by the law, not because they love any more. E g.

( Child support). However, with God, He first loved us and then gave us His only begotten Son-Jesus Christ. John 3:16. If we give or serve without love, it weighs nothing before God. Love for the people must be the motivating factor to serve and not for any other ulterior motive. Please stay tuned for the series next week. Amen.
