Matthew 23:13
"But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourself, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in."
Jesus was speaking in the whole of Chapter 23 rebuking the Scribes and Pharisees for misleading the people of God. They were teaching about tithing and leaving the weightier matters untaught. If in the New Testament days, the people of God were not alert to the things of the kingdom, how much less do they care in this generation?
The broadway and modern church leaders are more concerned with packaging of the ways to collect from the people, rather than to connect the people to the kingdom of God. Modern-day teachings and sermons are no longer heavenly focused. In actual fact, those messages drive people away and far from God.
God is not unaware of all these things. Let us be conscious of eternity. There is no amount of what we have or who we are that can take us to heaven than paying attention to the import of the weightier matters. Do not be part of statistics for hell. If anyone misses heaven, then the next place is hell. One that misses heaven cannot miss hell. Please note that the obedience of giving tithes and offerings cannot be faulted, no matter how many opposition. Giving to the work of God is biblical. Amen.
