Ephesians 5:4
"Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient : but rather giving thanks to God."
The above Bible passage is a revelation for all Christians, especially those that are followers of Jesus. Paul the Apostle was putting it across to us that all the sins mentioned in the penultimate verse 3 are enough to set us far away from God. He went further to inform us that filthy talks which is an extension of foolish talks can also set us far away from God.
Instead of engaging in filthy, foolish and unnecessary testing, we should rather use those times to give glory and thanks to God. No dirty jokes, no telling of dirty story and unnecessary boasts. They are not for us. Giving glory to God brings God closer and down to our side. Amen.
Let the power of thanksgiving replace the urge for sins and sinful engagement. Allow the spring of thanksgiving to continually flow. Flee from the gathering of those that can drain your tank of thanksgiving with filthy things. Let them know that you are created to please God with your thanksgiving. Amen.
Prayer points for the day
1) Lord, thank you for another great day of thanksgiving season, in Jesus Name.
2) Father, thank you for the forgiveness of all my iniquities, in Jesus Name.
3) Lord, let the tank of my gratitude not go dry, in Jesus Name.
4) Father, do not let my life engage in filthiness and foolish talks, in Jesus Name.
5) Lord, fill my mouth with glorious thanksgiving, in Jesus Name.
6) Lord, let my life be a symbol of thanksgiving, in Jesus Name.
7) Lord, let there be revival of thanksgiving in my family, in Jesus Name.
