Isaiah 64:1
“O that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence”
To rend means to tear, burst or open. The Bible passage above was a prayer meeting of the people of Judah led by Prophet Isaiah. The time of prayer was to appeal to God to come forth and fight for them. When the heavens open, the presence of God is provoked and the impact of His nearness will make all the difference.
The people of Judah had erred and hardened their hearts against God and their adversaries took advantage of that, but suddenly they remembered God as their only redeemer; whose name they one more time realized was from everlasting to everlasting. Isaiah 63:16 refers.
Mountains are always a hinderance anywhere we encounter them. However, we have the God in the heaven of heavens that can help us to deal with them. Refer to Isaiah 64:2. We can pray like the people of Judah and plead with God in all sincerity to open heavens and come down to our help. Amen.
Prayer points for the day
1) Lord, thank you for another day of open heavens, in Jesus Name.
2) Father, I am desperate rend the heavens for my sake and let all my sins melt away, in Jesus Name.
3) Father, my eyes are unto you, open my heavens in Jesus Name.
4) Lord, let my heavens open and come to my aid, in Jesus Name.
5) Lord, let the power of thy presence fight for me and my family, in Jesus Name.
6) Father, let this month of open heavens answer to all the concerns of my life, in Jesus Name.
7) Lord, for the sake of the blood of Jesus shed at Calvary, rend the heavens for me this month and lift me higher than my imaginations, in Jesus Name. Amen.
