Isaiah 59:21
"As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; My Spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and forever."
The Spirit of the Lord and the word of the Lord go hand in hand and is very had to separate. In the book of Genesis chapter 1, it was the Spirit that moved first and followed by the word, when God spoke. Also, in John chapter 1, in the beginning was the Word…………….and the Word was God.
The fact is that where ever there is the Spirit, the Word must also be present. The covenant to give the Spirit, followed by the Word was a divine strategy by God, to make mankind to have dominion and be in charge on behalf of God.
The question this morning is what happened to the Spirit that God poured upon HIS creature and the word that God Himself commissioned into our mouth? There must be a purpose for the gift of the Spirit and of the word. Under the Old Testament covenant how did our forefathers go about the Spirit and the word? Not in any way that pleased God, hence the new covenant. Under the new covenant, let us speak the word with the Spirit of the Lord. The new covenant is unmistakable like the old. It is clearer and better. Use it well. Let the Word follow the Holy Spirit in your heart. SPEAK THE WORD.
