“GODLY CHOSEN FAST” AND LET THE OPPRESSED GO FREE– Part III

Isaiah 58:6

"Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of the wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

Fasting has numerous advantages, as enumerated in the above Bible passage.  One being that God considers the oppressed. The oppressed may include the less privileged, the sick, the poor and/or those that may be challenged in many other ways. If one thinks he/she is not oppressed in the traditional sense, the systems of the world can oppress you. There is no situation that seeking the face of God cannot redeem. There is need to pray with fast, so that we can be free.  Every one created by God is in His agenda and His love for us cannot fail or fade.

During this season of seeking the face of God in a special way, the oppressed shall begin to experience freedom. God said it, as written above. Why not believe God for total freedom from whatever represents oppression? One may be walking around physically free and still remain spiritually oppressed. Except one is first delivered in the spiritual realm, the cycle of oppression may be hard to overcome.

However, the good news is that with God on our side, there is nothing too hard to overcome. God is aware of all situations that oppress us. If it is the system that is oppressing the children of God, HE can step in and change the system. He is the unchangeable changer. If it is the government that is oppressing the people of God, HE can change the mind of the people in the government or change the government. HE knows how to; but we need to seek Him.
