1 Samuel 28:5
"And when Saul saw the hosts of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart greatly trembled."
Saul was appointed by God to be the king of Israel. He was blessed on all and from all sides with abundance of victories against the hosts of all the enemies of Israel especially, the Philistines. Any time the battle was too heavy for King Saul to handle, God always intervened. For every trouble during Saul’s reign, God always provided divine solution for victory.
As long as God was on the side of king Saul and Israel, all gatherings of wars were destroyed; not because Saul organized victory for himself, but for God who has been on his side. Since God was with Saul, all the hosts of enemies could not defeat Israel. The passage above reveals that at this time Saul was not only afraid, but his heart was greatly shaken when he saw the Philistines. Why? Something must be wrong!
Likewise, we followers of Christ, whatever represent “the host of Philistines” in our surrounding; we should trust that God will not leave us. “The host of the Philistines” represents battles of life. However, as long as we are on the Lord’s side and the Lord is on our side, all battles belong to God. As God handled Saul’s battles, He is still the same God. He can handle all your battles. Turn over the battles to God. He is bigger than all the battles going on in the world, talk less of your own battles.
