Psalms 103:2
"Bless the Lord, O my soul and forget not all His benefits"
At some point in the life of King David, he realized that all he needed to do was to bless the Lord with all that was within him. Why? Because without God in the picture of his entire life his stories and testimonies would not be the same.
The number one benefit he realized was that with all his mess in life ; God in his loving – kindness and mercy chose to forgive him all his sins. Psalm 103: 3a ” He for-giveth all thine iniquities” Without forgiveness no benefits can follow in life. Who are the people that need forgiveness? We do, as sinners of all kinds. With the mess in life we are living today, we need deep forgiveness.
When we thank the Lord for any blessings, however small or big, we are actually in appreciation for our present and future blessings. At some point in our Christian lives, there is need to bless the Lord from the bottom of our hearts and appreciate His greatness and sovereignty over all things. He gave His only begotten Son, JESUS as sacrifice of forgiveness for us to take the punishment we deserve. Jesus became the hope of our forgiveness if we only know HIM as such. In Him we can find hope, forgiveness and eventual redemption; if we follow and repent of all our sins. Let somebody shout Hallelujah!!!!!
