1 King 19:19
" So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Sha-phat, who was ploughing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth ; and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him."
For Elijah to find Elisha, there was a departure first and then a finding. Elisha was destined to be positioned on the farm while ploughing for Elijah to pass by and locate Elisha. It was not until the twelfth oxen that Elijah passed by. All were about God’s positioning for one to meet another; and that was the beginning of the ministry of Elisha. The rest has become biblical history today. Amen.
When Elijah met Elisha there was no plan to cast his mantle on him, because we were not told that Elijah was looking for Elisha neither was Elisha looking to meet with Elijah; who was on a divine direction to meet with Elijah who was passing by. Elisha was a “farm boy” who became a prophet. No one should look down on “a farm boy” God can make an Elijah to pass by and cast his mantle on any “farm boy”
The “farm boy” Elisha had no excuse to refuse the mantle. He did not look for either title or mantle, but he got mantle. What happened to the two of them was divine positioning for divine assignment. Where ever one may be is for a purpose. Do not despise any place that you may find yourself. Your positioning is divine, as a child of God. Praise HIM. Amen.
