“…AND THANKSGIVING, AND HONOR…”

Revelation 7:12

"Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our God forever and ever. Amen."

The above passage is one of the various proofs that heaven is real and great times are going on yonder. It is also one of the indications of an unending joy that takes place there. The Angels, the elders, Jesus and those Christians that Grace of God have taken to heaven were among those singing. The passage reflects a song that is very popular in the evangelical churches until this day.

However, the key admonition for today is the general joyous mood that is going on in heaven all the time, especially the “THANKSGIVING” aspect. The party in heaven does not forget to demonstrate the attitude of thanksgiving to the Lord. They gave honor, glory and all that was due to God.

In the middle of their joy, they were thanking God for the salvation and redemption of their souls. The final journey to heaven inspired them to give thanks. What is inspiring us now as pending pilgrims in waiting to give thanks to God? Regardless the levels of our discouragement and uncertainties in life, there must be something to inspire us to give thanks to God. For example, God’s goodness and attributes can inspire us to give Him thanks. While still here on earth, let us begin to have a broader vision to comprehend what heaven might look like. Give thanks for being part of the “Redeemed” that is heaven bound.

Prayer points for the day

• 1) Lord, I thank you for the salvation of my soul, in Jesus Name.
• 2) Father, thank you for the gift of another day, in Jesus Name.
• 3) Father, thank you for the love of sending Jesus to take away my pains, in Jesus Name.
• 4) Father, be thou exalted for your goodness and glory over me and my family, in Jesus Name.
• 5) Father, bless me with what no man can bless me with, in Jesus Name.
• 6) Almighty God, let this month of November 2013, bring more blessing to the body of Christ, in Jesus Name.
• 7) Father, remove all barriers from my life and let me and my family be heaven bound, in Jesus Name.
• 8) Father, let this year be the end to all my difficult challenges and problems, in Jesus Name. Amen.
