Hebrews 11:31
"By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.
Faith has been a topical issue of preference amongst Christians. However, it is simple in the sense that God honors faith and faith is in honor of God. Faith is believing in God and trusting in Him regardless of the circumstances or influences around us. The pressures and the dilemmas of this world can cause our faith to weaken, especially during times of fear. However, fear should be kept at bay as it is the opposite of faith.
If Rahab, the harlot, could exercise her faith and it worked for her while she successfully kept the spies working for God’s plans believing that God was bigger than all that were after the spies – so can we. She was amongst those that were preserved in the middle of crisis, because she believed that God works with faith.
Faith is not developed overnight. It is a gradual process. Faith increases with us depending on where we put God as priority in the situation, faith in Him cannot be an afterthought. God can meet you at the very moment of your need. Your faith develops as you depend more on God and less on yourself or others. If God recognized the harlot that exercised faith and worked with, He is still the same God and can work through with you – only if you exercise faith in God. Her faith in God prevailed over her sin of being a harlot. Faith made her an instrument for God. God can use any one with true faith no matter what! Amen.
