2 Corinthians 4:8-9
8) "We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed ; we are perplexed, but not in despair ; 9) Persecuted, but not forsaken ; cast down, but not destroyed;"
Someone who has never been cast down in any form cannot really appreciate God for victory if he/she is always making progress. The Bible says when there is casting down, there shall be lifting up. The assumption this morning is that Paul must have heard that scriptures and held on firmly to it. Therefore, no amount of casting down can destroy him. So shall it be for you in Jesus Name. Amen.
Paul moved from trouble to perplexing, to persecution and casting down but in all of these, he was not stressed, distressed, never in despair. He refused to remain on the ground whenever he fell, and was never in any circumstances to be destroyed. Paul knew his God of victory would not forsake him. He became stronger than his enemies of trouble, perplexing, persecution and casting down. That was total victory.
In life, we might meet with various troubles on every side, home, marriage, business, friends, families, colleagues, even in the Ministry, we should not become stressed or distressed. Do we know that God is able to uphold us and support to strengthen us? We may be forsaken by any one, including your closest allies; however the power in the phrase “YET NOT”distressed and “BUT NOT” forsaken, “BUT NOT” DESTROYED statements will give us victory over and over against all the troubles and persecutions, in Jesus Name. Amen.
