“COMPASSION ON THY FELLOW SERVANT”

Matthew 18:33-34

Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee? And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him."

Compassion, simply put, is an expression of love to others, even when they seem not to deserve it. With compassion Jesus revived the son of the widow. It was with compassion that the father received his prodigal son back with open arms. It was compassion that caused Jesus to heal multitudes.

Jesus exemplified this principle, for example Matthew 20:34 “So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.” Let us follow the example of Jesus. Do something for others with compassion today, however little. Show compassion to thy fellow worker at work, to fellow brethren at church, to thy fellow neighbor in your neighborhood.

God multiplies the little compassion you express to others. Your compassion can relieve a soul from suffering, and prevent a soul from perishing. On the plane, bus, or on the street, show compassion. It can brighten someone’s day; as you show compassion, you too will receive compassion!

Prayer points for the day

1) Lord, give me an extra touch of grace to not withhold compassion from others, in Jesus Name.

2) Lord, let me receive the grace to receive your compassion, in Jesus Name.

3) Father, the grace to show compassion will not run out/dry in my life, in Jesus Name.

4) Lord, I need your divine compassion for me and my household, in Jesus Name.

5) Almighty God, let your power of compassion restore my life, in Jesus Name.

6) Father, have your way in my life and let me be able to show compassion to others, in Jesus Name.

7) Lord, teach my heart to show compassion everywhere I find myself, in Jesus Name.

Have a blessed and wonderful day!
