Matthew 14:24
“But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves : for the wind was contrary. “
The disciples were having a nice cruise at the beginning of the trip, but the Bible passage above informs us that “now in the midst of the sea” the wind started tossing the ship. We know that when the wind tosses the ship, there would be discomfort, because the wind is contrary of grace. The wind became stormy and caught up with them on the high seas.
Meanwhile, Jesus was away on the mountain praying and for sure His prayer points will include the disciples He had left. Why did Jesus not take them along? However, the presence of Jesus is always with them in Spirit and in the physical. The disciples were used to the physical presence of Jesus in many occasions.
The above incidence is an assurance that Jesus is always with us even in the storm. Like the disciples: all they did was to cry out to Jesus at their moment of storm. Have we learnt how to cry in earnest to Jesus to rescue us? The invisible Mighty Hands are ready to stretch out always to help us. Call on Jesus in the trouble of thy storm. He is watching over His own and cannot miss your cry. Amen. The cry should be “Lord save me from the contrary wind”
