Jeremiah 14:21
"Do not abhor us, for thy name sake, do not disgrace the throne of thy glory: remember, break not thy covenant with us"
God keeps record of what we do to ourselves, others and indeed to HIM. This kind of record keeping is called book of remembrance, book of life, the Lamb’s book of life and the book that the Bible refers to as “the book” in Daniel 12:1.
It is possible for God to abhor us because of our wickedness. To abhor us means turning against us; but HE would not because of the power of His covenant with us. Also, as children of God, His Name is involved in the affairs of those that believe HIM. The name of God is always at stake in all the endeavors of believers. If God abhors us for any reasons, then the throne of the glory may be disgraced; and the unbelievers may take advantage of us. May God not abhor us, in Jesus Name. Amen.
All of these books capture our deeds right or wrong in preparation for the Kingdom of God. At the end of it all, the book of remembrance would be referenced. The good deeds of King Hezekiah compelled God to open his book of remembrance and God changed His mind regarding the sentence. It should be comforting to us that God is mindful of us. Therefore, we should strife to do things that would speak well of us before God, which would make it into the book for our good.
When God remembers us good and great things happen. Why? Psalms 8:4 explains it all. God is always mindful of us. PRAISE GOD!
Prayer points for the day
1) Father, thank you for being mindful of me and my family always, in Jesus Name.
2) Father, thank you for bringing me and my family into the beginning of this New Year 2016, in Jesus Name.
3) Lord, let this season of “divine remembrance” attend to my needs, in Jesus Name.
4) Father, remember your covenant of favor and grace upon my life, in Jesus Name.
5) Lord, remember me and my family for uncommon blessing this year, in Jesus Name.
6) Almighty God, it is my turn this year 2016, remember me and my family for unsearchable and marvelous great miracles without number (Job 5:9) in Jesus Name.
7) Father, remember me for your uplifting this year 2016, in Jesus Name.
