Luke 23:34
"Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted His raiment, and cast lots."
This phrase; “To err is human and to forgive is divine” kept on coming back in this series. Ordinarily, human nature is prone to offenses, but the nature of God is prone to forgiveness. When people offend others or when they refuse to forgive others, it is apparent that they are beclouded and overwhelmed with the human nature, while they decompress the divine nature of God.
Why should we forgive? We should forgive simply because Jesus taught us in many of His teachings to do so, particularly the mercy that He shows to us each and every day. There are numerous unseen benefits with forgiveness. It mainly brings you to spiritual alignment with the admonition of Jesus. If all of us can practice what Jesus did, this world would be a peaceful and pleasant place to be proud of.
Take a random forgiveness test on yourselves today and be truthful if you are in alignment in the spiritual with our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus became the “offense” when they turned the house of God into “Wall Street and Main Street” and He disrupted their activities, sent them away; still He did not allow His actions to hinder His love for the people. The simplicity of our Lord’s prayer should be relevant to us. When we ask for forgiveness; the appropriate thing is to forgive others. “FATHER FORGIVE THEM” and cultivate the nature of God to forgive others.
