1 John1: 9
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Our God is faithful and just. Faithful, because He will never fail. Just, because He will never be partial or imperfect. He cannot be compared with other gods. Our own God is from the everlasting eternity and goes all the way to the everlasting eternity, meaning – eternity past and eternity future. Our God is all – knowing God. He had planned our redemption long before our mess up by giving us JESUS – OUR NEW COVENANT.
No matter how bad we may be, there is always another chance for us, only if we can turn back to HIM, and remember all His promises. The prodigal son after paying price for his sins among the swines, the Spirit of God woke up inside of him and he went back home. However, how bad you might have strayed away, do not be a sheep for the slaughter. Sins can make someone to be a sheep for the slaughter. Turn back. God is faithful to receive and redeem you.
One way or the other, no sin will go unpunished. The prodigal son was punished for his waywardness. God is faithful and just to punish and to forgive. Remember, that the prodigal son made it back home to receive his forgiveness. He stopped his life outside the will of God. Jesus was punished for your sins and would no longer be punished again. He had taken up your sins once and for all even unto death, He is coming back again; not as a lamb, but as a Judge. No one should be blamed for the pains on the unrepentant sinner, but the unrepentant sinner himself/herself. When we say that God is faithful and just, Yes He is; because we know Our God to be so and we believe HIM to be who HE IS.
