LUKE 10: 33-34
"But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed came where he was and when he saw him, he had compassion on him.
34) And went to him, bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
The above series title could also be termed “The application of “unlimited love” because the certain Samaritan actually applied practical love in an unlimited way to the wounded. He did not just say “It is well. Be healed. God Bless you. He made a move to assess the extent of the wounds and took necessary action to help.
Yesterday, it was the very first step which advanced practical demonstration of love towards the stranger. The Bible passage above in verse 34 reveals that the wounds sustained by the stranger was bounded up by the Samaritan. He performed what we can call “CPR” type of attention. He took action of a para medic to reduce the impact of the wound, pending full attention. He even applied some “anointing oil” with “iodine” oil and spirit.
The Samaritan demonstrated a unique love that even the Priest and Levite that passed by could not do. They were to busy to show love to the wounded that was left half dying. They showed no concerns and went their ways, probably not wanted to be implicated in the robbery case. As you read today, please show love to the needy ; in practical times, especially those that may be urgent.
