Rev. 2:4
"Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love"
Love from man can flow, and then get to a point and cease for a number of reasons, but the love of Christ overflows and does not cease. The first love is the sense and type of love that the Holy Spirit brought us into intimacy and personal relationship with God and man through Jesus Christ.
This love in the Spiritual overflows to the love we relate to in the physical. The Holy Spirit convicted us at our new birth to a point where we could say that Lord ; “we really love you”.
What then happened to our first love that we cannot retain and maintain it?
The people of God are departing from our first love. The world has come into the church. There is more program than prayers. The church has become a place of less spiritual but more of social. It is difficult to see the deep devotion that the early church gave to the love of Christ. Love is not flowing as well as before. As you read this today, please decide to make a difference and let the first type of love begin to flow again. The renewed love will be recorded in His book of remembrance. PRAISE GOD!!!!!
