Hebrews 8:7-8
"For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. - For finding fault with them, He said, Behold, the days come, said the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah"
When God made the new covenant, it was for the same people of Israel, and God cannot take the new covenant less important because of what happened to the old. Covenant was meant to be everlasting between God and man; therefore, God had to remove the guilt of sin from the land. God used His only begotten Son as a tool of cleansing for the people and the land.
Furthermore, in order to strengthen the new covenant, God found a way to draw the rebellious hearts of the people to Himself. The release of the faulty old covenant was on the stone, but the release of the new covenant was into the inward part of the people’s heart.
The old covenant was easily broken, even with the prophets and teachers and the leaders. The people were clueless to know the heart of God as regards the old covenant. The new covenant was more considerate. It was not carrying any undertone of sin and condemnation. It was simple to understand. Jesus made it easy to operate. There was no excuse with the new covenant. Once we are able to follow Jesus, we would be able to follow the new covenant. The new covenant came with peace, love, signs and wonders. Get into the loop to be part of it. PRAISE GOD!
