John 1:40-42
40 One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.
41 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.
42 And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.
When Andrews found Messiah, he wasted no time to introduce his own family to the Messiah. He took it as priority to spread what he had seen to the members of his household and then to others. Andrew had passion for souls winning. He had burden to let them also hear from Master Jesus.
After he brought Simon to Jesus, he allowed Jesus to behold him. Later on Jesus paid attention to Simon and changed his name in view of the spiritual assignments ahead. Jesus knows the end from the beginning. He knows the potentials every one of us carries. In the Bible passages above, Jesus went into the foundation of the family of Andrew and make a star out of it. “Simon Peter” the “stone”, the “rock”
Jesus knows your/our future more than we do. He can reshape our future, no matter which family we come from. Andrew had no ideas what Simon could become just by getting him to meet Jesus. However, he had confidence that Jesus is the savior of the world that can do all things. Please commend your own family into the able hands of Jesus. Let HIM behold them for the Masters’ use. AMEN!!!!
Prayer points for the day
1) Father, thank you for all you have done for me and my family, in Jesus Name.
2) Father, thank you for the season to win souls into thy Kingdom, in Jesus Name.
3) Lord, increase my faith and confidence to win souls for thy kingdom, in Jesus Name.
4) Father, use this season of souls winning to identify my family members for uncommon grace in Jesus Name.
5) Father, you changed the name of Simon because of your need for him, use me like never before in Jesus Name.
6) Father, in my wilderness, let “water” come out from my drought in Jesus Name.
7) Lord, crown my efforts with success this season of souls winning in Jesus Name. Amen.
