Galatians 5:23
"Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
When we remember and keep the perspective “what will Jesus do” in all circumstances, then self-control can never be in excess or be in the negative. Our Lord Jesus Christ lived His life with excellent “self- controlled” dimension and no one ( not even the best judges in Jerusalem ) were able to find faults in Him.
As born again Christians, our character must be guided and generated from inward action of the Holy Spirit in us over our flesh. The works of flesh would not allow any one to take a step back and purse before reacting to issues. The way we react to issues of life determines the majority of the outcome.
Allow the Holy Spirit to manifest your ability to control emotions. There is no law against us controlling our behaviors in Christ-like manner. Jesus was never known to have reacted in an out- of- control manner, and we should not be known to be living lives of “out-of-self-control” He always remembered the sovereign power behind HIM and He never abused the power. We all can attain a level of self-control acceptable to God. Paul the Apostle strength for self-control was in Jesus, not in his own influential achievements. Be faithful, prayerful, vigilant and be sober; and you will live a self-controlled life under the Holy Spirit guidance. Praise God.
