Jonah 2:9
“But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord.”
All the prayers of Prophet Jonah reflected that he had full knowledge of how God responds to faith that honors HIM with thanksgiving. Faith of Jonah ; by giving praise to God; even in the place of darkest experience, moved the Hands of God. In the belly of the fish, Jonah still declared looking into God for rescue with his eyes centered upon the holy temple.
The original plan of God for Jonah was to go to Nineveh. However, Jonah changed the plan and headed the opposite direction. God stood by His plan and captured Jonah and put him into a quiet place for another chance. Jonah experienced inconveniences and he remembered God. He made a vow to go God’s way; back to God’s plan to Nineveh in accordance with the original plan. When God makes a plan He stands by the plan. Praise God.
“Salvation is of the Lord” declared Jonah. He gave all the process of salvation to God and not any works he had done. Brethren, let God take all the credit for your salvation. HE alone is worthy to receive the praise for the salvation of our soul. Praise God. In all the pains and uncertainties inside belly of the fish, Jonah raised a voice of thanksgiving that God cannot ignore. Raise your own voice of thanksgiving today, no matter where life has placed you and God will definitely hearken, in Jesus Name. Amen.
