Mark 14:3
"And being in Bethany in the house of Simeon the leper, as He sat at the meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious ; and she brake the box, and poured it on His head".
Breaking her alabaster box was the highest regard and honor for Jesus. Many women of her generation would not do that. The unnamed woman did what actually touched the heart of our Lord Jesus and HE in turn responded in all His power to show appreciation.
The content of the alabaster box was said to be of spikenard and very precious. This was not a left over, neither was it an ordinary possession. It meant much to her and she poured it on the head of Jesus. She applied all of her precious ointment on Jesus, because she already broke the box.
This woman did not consider her own future position regarding this ointment. She used it all on Jesus and there was no place in the Bible mentioned that the woman was lack in anything. Can you break your alabaster box for the sake and name of Jesus without calculating? That was what the unnamed woman did and Jesus released unlimited blessing of forgiveness, etc upon her. She did not withhold back what was precious to her. It is hard for any one to explain the extent of love she got for Jesus. Praise God!!!!!!
