Jonah 2:9
"But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving ; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord"
Jonah, was a prophet of God and concluded that truly Salvation is of the Lord. He confirmed with the voice of thanksgiving, because he knew that he had failed by disobeying God. He needed fresh fire of his salvation and he secured it by voice of thanksgiving. The same thing with King David ; any time he fell below the expectation of God, he always felt the weight of sins and used thanksgiving to restore the joy of his salvation.
Giving thanks to the most High God is a powerful force to bring us back to God for revival after repentance. Jonah did not want to lose his communion with God and at the same time could not help himself in the vanity of believing in himself; therefore, he surrendered to the will and mercy of God with the voice of thanksgiving. Amen.
Those that run away from God forsake the mercy of God. We are all saved sinners, but when we return to God for revival and restoration, our status with God will be reinstated. As Jonah bounded his soul in prayer and voice of thanksgiving, we too can and see what God can do. Speak forth in thanksgiving, sing forth in thanksgiving and praise God in thanksgiving. He vowed the sacrifice of thanksgiving with his voice and he redeemed it. What is your vow to God this thanksgiving season? Make a vow and redeem your vow accordingly. Amen.
